EVALUATION OF CONFORMITY OF AGRICULTURAL LAND USE OF
UKRAINE TO CONDITIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT –
A PART OF FOOD SECURITY MONITORING
Introduction. In order to implement the agreements in the framework of the final
documents adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (Johannesburg,
2002), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Resolution No. 634 on April
26, 2003, approving the Comprehensive Programme of Decisions Implementation at
the National Level. These decisions were adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable
Development, for 2003-2015 [1]. The Resolution noted that the implementation of the
decisions taken at the World Summit on Sustainable Development for 2003-2015 is
one of the priority directions of the activities of central and local executive authorities.
In September 2015, UN Summit for adoption of the Agenda for development was
held in a framework of 70th UN General Assembly Session in New York. The summit
is considered to be an event of historic significance. Summit’s problems covered all
aspects of socio-economic development, national competitiveness, environmental and
energy security and a global partnership for development, and the volume of thorough
preparatory work had no precedent in history. After the summit, UN Member Countries
faced new challenges to adapt global goals and their monitoring. In Ukraine also work
on sustainable development of established goals for 2016-2030 years was started in
order to find relevant targets and indicators for monitoring of the objectives
achievement [2].
Ukraine needs the development of an appropriate programme for the
implementation of decisions taken at the UN Summit for 2015-2030 at the national
level. The urgency of the programme is determined by the internal socio-economic and
environmental conditions, international agreements of Ukraine, as well as the necessity
