In accordance with calculations for solving the problems in the area of agricultural
land use the state should focus on less developed regions where environmental situation
is difficult (Crimea, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lugansk regions),
productivity (Crimea, Zaporizhia, Lugansk, Zakarpattia and Kyiv regions) and land
productivity (Crimea, Zaporizhia, Lugansk and Kherson regions) reduced, slow
population growth (Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions)
and have an excessive migration (Zakarpattia, Kirovohrad, Lugansk and Kherson
regions).
In general, according to the methodology, it has been calculated that agricultural
land use in Ukraine does not correspond to the requirements of sustainable
development. In accordance with the defined system of indicators, an indicative model
of sustainable development of agricultural land use in Ukraine was constructed,
according to which only 30 of the 130 indicators correspond to the requirements of
sustainable land use development, and the last 100 - do not meet these requirements
and principles, which is a subject to the development of progressive countries of the
world nowadays. The analysis of the system of indicators proposed for use at the macro
level also showed negative trends: in each group, the number of indicators having
positive dynamics did not exceed 50% in defined problems.
An assessment of the compliance of agricultural land use in Ukraine with the
conditions of sustainable development, as a component of monitoring food security of
the country, indicates the need to change the strategy of agricultural land use to achieve
the goals of sustainable development in 2016-2030 in directions of environmental,
economic and social problems, taking into account the regional peculiarities
established during the study.
