Positive changes in most regions found in two partial indicators: the land return
(a negative trend noted in AR of Crimea, Donetsk, Zakarpattia and Lviv region) and
the volume of polluted water into surface waters (a negative trend noted in AR of
Crimea and Sumy region).
The study of dynamics of the specified indicators shows the improvements in all
regions on six partial indicators: monetary evaluation of farmland per hectare (the
largest increase found in Cherkasy region, and the lowest one – in Chernihiv region);
average nominal wages (the largest gain is set in Kiev region, and the lowest – in
Odessa region); the volume of agricultural production per 100 hectares of farmland
(the largest increase found in Cherkasy region, and the lowest – in Lugansk region);
the volume of agricultural production per capita (the largest increase found in Cherkasy
region, and the lowest – in Donetsk region); supply of housing (the largest increase
found in Kiev region, and the the lowest – in Mykolayiv region); natural population
growth in rural areas (the largest increase found in Odessa region, and the lowest – in
the Ivano-Frankivsk region).
Negative changes in most regions found in four partial indicators: the proportion
of arable land in the area of farmland (positive changes took place in Luhansk, Kherson
and Chernivtsi regions, but in Kyiv and Zaporizhia regions important indicator did not
change); forested areas (positive changes took place in Crimea, Kyiv and Ivano-
Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odessa and Kherson regions important indicator
did not change); emissions of harmful substances into the air (positive changes took
place in Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Sumy regions); formation of
toxic industrial waste (positive changes took place in Zaporizhia and Sumy regions).
In terms of inter-regional migration positive trend observed in Vinnytsia, Volyn,
Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne,
Sumy, Ternopil, Kherson, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions.
Ranking the regions in terms of the proportion of arable land in the farmland
square provides positive changes in the ranking Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr,
Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Poltava and Rivne regions. Lugansk and Chernivtsi regions
reduced the positions in this indicator (Table 14).
