The lack of sufficient funding for the industry has had a negative impact on result
indicators. Thus, the index of agricultural products of Ukraine in 2015 compared to
1990 decreased by 11,8 points and amounted to 88,2 %. Positive dynamics can be
traced back to 2000 (except for 2007, 2010 and 2012), but the level of 1990 has not
been achieved over the entire period (Figure 12).

Source: calculated by the author according to data [14,15]
In 2013, the crop production index increased by 21.0 % and was higher than the
indicator for all agricultural products, by 32.8 %. During the period under study, the
crop production index was lower than 100% from 1990 till 2011, that is, a positive
increase was observed only during last 4 years due to high yields of cereals during this
period.
Significantly worse situation is occurred in livestock, where natural and climatic
conditions do not affect the production process, as in crop production. Thus, since
1995, the livestock production index ranged from 40 to 60 % of the 1990 value and in
2015 it was 57.3 %, which is 30.9 points lower than the total agricultural output and
63.7% points below the crop production index. The livestock production index was
lower than 100% during all years of research. By preserving the established tendencies,
it is impossible to expect achievement of norms in meeting the needs of the population
in livestock production and to prove the norms of its consumption to rational.
