On the basis of substantiated criteria a "brief" system of basic indicators of
agricultural land use development sustainability at the macro level was developed
(Table 2). This system contains a limited number of indicators and is recommended for
macroeconomic government programmes and national action plans.
The system of indicators is based on the structure of the "problem-indicators", but,
unlike the international structures of indicators, the ecological, economic, and social
problems that are most relevant for the country and which should reflect the indicators
are given in the section "problems". The basic indicators are chosen to reflect the
features of modern agricultural land use. In this regard, it should be noted that the list
of indicators can not be a permanent system and should be adjusted due to the trends
and problems.
